Royal racists?

Come on!
If your son or daughter married a person of a different race would you not ask what features any baby might have? It's a natural question and one that most of us would ask, even privately. It's not "racist" FCOL just a very normal question... and that goes for all parents, black or white, whose offspring marry a different race.
I don't like the Royals, and never will, but this is just a media-fest to hurt them, and possibly an attempt by Harry and Megan to do as much damage as possible. The 'leak' was no mistake, somebody did it on purpose. It will help sales of the book, though...

I agree 100%, Frank. FWIW when this first emerged from the Oprah interview my sister told me that she and my mixed race brother-in-law had the same sort of conversations. Curiosity, not racism.
This "leak" has Meghan's stamp all over it, I reckon

To me it is no different to wondering what colour eyes or hair the baby will have
People find racism everywhere now

When I was married to my first husband, who was from Guyana, even I wondered what colour the baby would be.
Not a racism comment, just natural curiosity.

Totally agree with this. Most families wonder what an expected baby will look like and I doubt it is any different with mixed race families. I am not a fan of Meghan Markle and I think she has quite deliberately misconstrued a perfectly normal family conversation.

I agree Medsec. Someone looking for racism will find it in the most innocuous comments. The initial “claim” was amplified by Oprah during that ridiculous interview, with her pretend shock horror face and “you mean they were concerned about the baby’s skin colour” or words to that effect. I read an article by a much published author, saying that a Dutch publication run is very small as so few people actually speak Dutch, so in fact it would have been a mere few thousand copies pulped and not a great loss. It all smacks of a stunt to me. As we all say, perfectly normal chat within families speculating on who a baby might look like. H and M are burning bridges faster than they can build them.

I have this with two grandchildren. Both are from mothers who are South American and have distinctly non British features. It is natural to wonder how the genetics will turn out.
One turned out to be a blue eyed blonde and the mother said "whose baby did you switch mine with". The other is a raven haired brown eyed child.
The only people who don't see this as normal are people with an agenda.
And WM, total respect for calling it out, it is so easy to let it slide when you don't like someone or something.
