Delicious.

Lower levels of saturated fats and higher fibre from their natural counterpart scream the headlines. Lower greenhouse gas emissions, less use of water resources, good for the planet and healthy says the hype and the headlines. A win, right?

But they are ultra processed foods (UPFs) with all sorts of additives to make them look and taste like meat - real meat - and they have the 'potential' and are a 'stepping stone' in the 'processed food' system - processed food system? - but only if they are carefully selected. Hmm...

Then comes the (hidden) catch: meat alternatives contained more sugar and some plant-based cheese alternatives had 50% higher saturated fat than dairy cheese.

Oh dear!

I think I'm right in saying that Italy has banned the sale of lab grown meat?
To me there's something else going on. Farmers across the west are having problems at the same time as all this is being pushed?

Wherever I see heavy marketing I look for the details.

Mind you the Vegans might eat it. With predictable results....

Vegans and vegetables... similar intellects?

Asking for an omnivore friend.
