Check out the post at 18:40 ...... :D

Sky News understands polling station staff were forced to turn the former prime minister away after he initially failed to comply with legislation he introduced while he was in Downing Street.
Mr Johnson, who introduced the Elections Act requiring photo ID in 2022, was attempting to cast his ballot in South Oxfordshire, where a police and crime commissioner for the Thames Valley is being selected.
Boris Johnson introduced the Elections Act himself
In England, passports, driving licences, blue badges and certain local travel cards are accepted forms of voter ID.
A spokesman for Mr Johnson did not deny he had failed to bring ID, but did say he'd managed to vote today.
Make sure you don't make the same mistake if you haven't voted yet - we've got a full list of acceptable ID in this post.
If only Mr Johnson had checked the Politics Hub before he went out...

My favourite Boris Johnson story is the one where he was the Mayor of London, cycling through London. He was then spotted by a load of Japanese tourists, who asked if they could have their photo's taken with him. Johnson obliged.
Unfortunately this put him behind schedule and he was subsequently late for a meeting with the then Prince Charles.
His royalness was reportedly not amused.

What a strange (political) world we live in.

Experts such as Curtice and Treacher constantly, constantly, constantly tell us that local election voting can teach us nothing about a general election result, yet here we are with the media predicting (guessing) that we are in for a hung parliament based on, you got it, the local election results.

However, polling on GE voting intentions by many pollsters, and only on the GE, predict a Labour landslide and Tory wipe-out.

They cannot both be right.

Oh, hang on, most media outlets tend to be right wing so they have to talk up Risky's chances even though deep down they know the Tories are toast. They hope to swing a few votes.

Actually the results of the local elections I saw were a shambles for Labour with many of the Labour voters they expected to retain being seriously put off by Starmer and Tories just not voting instead of voting Labour or another party.

Labour got a 9% boost. Something which makes a Labour government much less certain.

You remember my somewhat sarky comment last year (or was it early this year), about how Starmer not going full on "Gaza is genocide" had seriously annoyed a lot of the GenZ Labour voters who are expecting Labour to simply dump our ally because they have zero clue about war, terms and rules of war and the long held shame of not doing more about the Jewish situation in Germany; which was crystal clear long before the war began.

Nobody is going to be able to call this election because with about 50 widely opposed viewpoints per 1,000 surveyed, the survey becomes of little value for prediction.
