The older you are the safer you are.

Or so the politicians think. This thought process has led them to consider raising the driving age limit to 18, but it doesn't stop there.
They also want:
A curfew between 22:00 and 05:00 unless a passenger aged over 30 is in the car
Drivers to have a minimum of 100hrs of daytime and 20hrs of night-time driving under supervision
Drivers under 30 to be banned from carrying passengers also under 30
How all that is to be enforced and policed is anyone's guess.
Why not raise the age limit to 50? That way there would be no young drivers - all would be saved. Job done.

Yes it's not very well thought out is it? Like removing the 250cc bikes from the learners. So a learner could go from a relatively low powered 125 to an 1800cc monster the moment they passed their test. It took them long enough to work that one out.
From my perspective, the easiest way to deal with this is that if you are 17 and are proven to have had an accident through careless or dangerous driving, license gone for 3 years. Job done. Sensible 17 year old's can drive.
But that's a touch too simple isn't it. Also it leaves the decision to the Judges. Something I'm becoming very wary of.

Absolutely.
Along with the upcoming requirement to vet all your patients, tenants, neighbours etc. etc. for illegal immigrancy, the Tory Party is doing a damn good job of increasing the amount of bureaucracy in this country ........

It is all becoming a bit East German.
All these restrictions are for our health wellbeing and safety, or so they say.
So we are controlled by such things as ANPR, CCTV, GCHQ. We are urged to get in touch: e-mail us, send us a text, phone, fax, give us your info and we'll keep you anonymous. Whistleblow from the bottom up, you know it makes sense.
But whitletblow from the top down and the sky will fall in on you - or worse.

So then the older drivers will be just as dangerous, as they won't have had any experience either

There're more than one! 650 of them are locked up in a 'House' for weeks on end.... and they can call in takeaway 'advisors' and pizza.

Ah but whistleblowing from the top destroys the insanity, whilst whistleblowing from the bottom reinforces it and the iron control on our lives.
Where once we had common sense, now we have draconian rules and whistleblowers
