You know the sort of thing: Eat only green midget gems and drink six glasses of skimmed milk heated to 28.7C daily for a month......
Well, there's a new kid on the block: The government's 20% price rise diet. This new diet is guaranteed to reduce your purchases by 15%.
Yes. The price of a unit goes up by 20% so you only buy 85% of what you bought before, saving you err.......... Maybe I should have mentioned that this is about sugary drinks....... So, no you won't save money, but you will save a whopping 28 calories a week! Yes, dear bretheren, by us putting 20% on the price of your pop you will save 4 calories a day! Hallelujah! Your lives will be changed, all lives will be changed. If you are fat or obese the weight will drop off in no time. If you are not fat or obese you will never become so, but you still have to pay. And don't forget, it puts £275 in the treasury tills for us to spend on..........
Think I am making it up?

When are these idiots going to realise that taxing every "bad" thing off the shelves and other forms of social engineering are not going to work? This is the latest in a list including minimum price per unit of alcohol, tax on pies and pasties, on takeaways, on ready-meals, size limits on chocolate bars......
4 calories a day will reduce obesity numbers by about 250,000? Yer 'avin a larff guv.
