Do you want a United States of Europe? Our Government totally subservient to Brussels?

Personally, if I can pinch a famous quotation from Rodo on another thread: "Hell, no!"

I'll be voting UKIP all along the line at the European elections ...... 8-)

Do I want a United States of Europe? Like Hell I don't.

At my age I suppose it won't make much difference to me, but I happen to love
this country and I have been praying every day that it will one day again become
the wonderful place it used to be. The only chance I can see is for us to quit the
EU and strengthen our ties with the British Commonwealth. However, I can't see
that happening if any one of the three main political parties get into power.

So I'm with you, Ostrich. If I'm still around at the next General Election my vote
will go to UKIP, and my election message to all and sundry will be...
********************SOD THE EU*********************

UK in the USE or UK out?

My preference would be 'IN' and fighting tooth and nail for our corner and the direction the EU goes - something we have never done. It will not happen.

Out of it we could go anywhere - G7 to G20 to nothing.

Yes, there are problems with the EU, not least immigration form the poorer countries to the richer, but a strong resistance to it from the likes of the UK, and others, could solve it.

Oh Aggers..............

" the wonderful place it used to be "

If only. We used to go shopping at the local shops in the next street and leave the front door open and the vestibule door unlocked and thought nothing of it. Now they aren't even just breaking into the house and stealing things, they are stealing the cables bringing power into our houses!

As for the EU. We are at the mercy of idiots who spend their time studying the angle of bend of cucumbers.

I agree with Frank, I think on balance we need to be in it, but if we are in we need to be wholeheartedly in, and fight for ourselves - like France and Germany do!

Yes. Perhaps we need a reincarnation of Maggie Thatcher.

I guess she would have stuck up for us.

I have no confidence that "fighting for ourselves" will have any effect, whatsoever, Kaz and WM. There are too many vested interests in the EU which are not the same as ours, and remaining in the EU will completely subjugate this country. England will be dying not with a bang, but a whimper ...... and will merely become a vassal state - is that what you really want to see? It's not a legacy I want to leave to Master O ....

Sorry, fully with Aggers on this. But we need more than a Thatcher, we need a Farage.

My belief is that if we leave the EU we will not get the same treatment as those who are outside but were never members - Switzerland, Norway etc. If our leaving damages the EU project, as it will, the remaining members will not be inclined to treat us as a dear old friend, but more likely as an adversary. Not only that, we will still have to trade with the EU, but by its rules, over which we will have no control whatsoever: none.

A "United States of Europe" was ALWAYS the plan, and still is.
It is an absolute testament to the lies and evasions of UK politicians, and the deliberate slanting of EU coverage by our broadcast media, that people are only just realising this.
Interesting to see that no mainstream broadcaster has reported the quote, and no mainstream polician has commented on it.

We have always known that the Common Market would evolve into something more like a federal state. It did not creep up on us whilst we slept, and the politicians did not lie, they just were not as open as they could have been with the truth, but a federation was always on the cards and we damn well knew that it was.

It is not the EU's fault that we (outr politicians) only played at being a member to placate the Little Englanders and Imperialist dreamers, something that has caused us untold problems. It is also a bit rich for some of you to now claim to want out, out of a situation your lukewarm attitudes helped to create.

There was a time when the UK could have been the equal of Germany and senior to France within the EU and we blew it.

Come the Euro elections I am voting UKIP, mainly to kick the pants of the ConDemLabs, but come any referendum I am voting "IN".
