the Dutch - experts in flood defence if ever there were any - offered their help to us last week in coping with the current crisis, but our government turned them down as it was no needed

Meanwhile, the Indians have just launched their first aircraft carrier - apparently the £280 million aid we are still sending them is coming in useful! Cameron's intransigence on foreign aid will (hopefully) be the end of him!

This government has to be the most arrogant shower of **** on the planet!!!

God knows what is going to happen at the next election. What a prospect! Realistically speaking it will be Labour or the Conservatives who win, it always is.
I've no enthusiasm for Cameron at all; but the idea of the likes of Miliband, Balls, Cooper and Harman getting back in makes me want to put my head in my hands.
I will vote UKIP; it won't make any difference because our village has been successfully gerrymandered into a rock solid Labour seat; but I'm not voting for any of the big three, for certain.

It will be a nightmare decision, I agree. I have always voted Liberal but since Clegg got into bed with the Tories he has lost me :(

Milliband is totally hopeless - he has shown no leadership whatsoever :?

UKIP for me, every politician is purely interested in his own power..get UKIP in who is probably no better, however that will give the other parties a good spanking. that they will probably all queue up for ;)

Dutch aid was eventually accepted in the form of high capacity pumps and they are now deployed in the Somerset levels.

I believe that it took so long is because, despite the fact that the Dutch are world leaders, our politicians view taking help as a weakness. It is a political culture thing.

I will also be voting UKIP, despite not agreeing with them, in order to lash out at the big three. I would prefer NOTA on the ballot paper, but in its absence I have no other option. Not voting is the worst of a set of bad options.
