Yes, he has found God. That's nice. :D

He says that we are a Christian country. Well, we all knew that Dave.

actually he's finally recognised something everyone else always knew.

Until the Government starts stating that the UK is a Christian society, the pressure groups can assume anything they want.......

Hence the Teflon Tony/Bumble Brown mess.....

You may think he's stating the obvious and that he's an idiot. But he elephant in the room is the fact that unless he actually States it Publicly, we're not. At least in the eyes of those, politically, who run our lives.

Worth a thought...

Yes, it's interesting to see that his comments have outraged the National Secular Society for one. A society nobody had ever head of 5 years back, that has been allowed by default to become a "serious voice" and a campaigning body.

Christianity has allowed itself to become derided and marginalised. We have feted the minorities and allowed them to "monster" the majority - look at gay marriage, etc. The UK is no longer a Christian country and it has become a secular society. Most people will probably say "so what's the problem?" The problem is that we have lost one of our core defining values at a nation. We will never get it back.

PS - good to see you posting again, Suff. Am I allowed to start insulting Salmond again now or won't your blood pressure take it yet?

Coming from a secular viewpoint I find Cameron's call for more religion in politics quite disturbing.

I know that the UK's laws and culture have evolved from Christian beliefs and priciples. but as a mature democracy we can surely now do without religious influences in our lawmaking. Laws are made for a purpose and there should be no opt-outs due to religious beliefs.

If Christianity has been marginalised I would argue that it is partly due to a "Christian" legislature bending over backwards to be seen to be fair to minority religions in multi-culti la-la land. A secular legislature could quite easily have pointed out that the laws were for one and all and would be applied.

I think he is aiming for a certain section of society whom he thinks might vote for him.

You are, of course, assuming that a secular argument would reach a logical conclusion.

Sadly a religious conclusion is neither secular nor logical. It is one based on fait. Only another faith can override it.

Sadly...
