have got the same treatment if they had left three children aged three and under in an unlocked flat in a holiday resort and gone out on the lash with their mates? Would they hell!
Would the Pope have genuflected before them? Would businessmen and slebs have aided their 'cause'? Would they have been able, or allowed, to hire a professional spokesman to field questions put to them? Would a website drawing in £millions have been set up? Would Wayne have been able to keep his job at the hospital, as a porter? Would Waynetta have been allowed her three days at the surgery, as a cleaner? When they got home would the Social have allowed the twins, Chelmsford and Traveloge, to sleep in their beds?
.
Probably not, although little April Jones' parents got a lot of media attention.
I think this case has got such a lot of coverage because she was never found; all the other missing/dead children have been.
But with all that publicity, has it made their lives any easier ?
Has it made the loss of their daughter easier to bear ?
And as they were at fault they also have the guilt to bear.
Until you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes I don't think you can have even the vaguest concept of the torture they've gone through, are still going through, and will go through for the rest of their lives unless she is found, which is looking less and less likely as time goes on.
