Time for the media to put some things to bed?

The top three stories on the BBC this morning are:

*Savile abuse reports 'reach 500'
*Madeleine police search scrubland
*IPCC to investigate Lawrence police

There is enough evidence in the Savile case to take things forward, we do not need to be told of every twist and turn on the way. Get to the end of the investigation then act, and tell us why.

Same with Maddie, we do not need every minute detail, just get on with things.

Same also with the Stephen Lawrence saga. We already know that the police did not do their jobs properly: its already established.

The only "news" in the articles on these cases is revealed in the first few sentences; or even the headline. Everything else is just raking over old ground and telling us what we already know. Give it a rest FCOL!

Looks like it's a slow news day. No mention of Hillsborough, then?

They'd booked a HUGE slot for the "dramatic" results of their racism survey and were left scrabbling to fill the void.....
