Plenty of fossils in the CofE and Caltholic Church too. Except they don't have direct power over people's lives in the same way.

The world has moved on. Religions move on last. Usually when faced with total breakdown of their followers.

Actually I think it gets better, we just hear about it more and it's more of a clash with our culture.

Interestingly a member of my extended family, by marriage, became a president last week. I can assure you that attitudes are changing. Slooowly.

Can't see that really Suff. All I see in various parts of the world is the bullying of women, the rape and killing. It doesn't seem to be getting better to me.

Men with the same beliefs as Bülent Arinç are among us; they are our neighbours. Think of that.

States with his beliefs are on our doorstep, and some, such as his, want to become EU members.

I do not see things getting better.

Well the press wouldn't let us know about the progressive moves and the progress being made. Would they? Where is the story in that? Afghanistan? Yup, Syria and insurgents, of course. Progressive moderates and societal advancements? Booooring.
