There are new calls from the LibDems, backed by Labour, for sex, relationships, money management and citizenship lessons to be given to all seven year-olds.

FCOL leave the little ones to have a childhood. Teach them to read and write and do sums, yes, but for God's sake let them have some fun time as well.

Far too young, just daft really

Shouldn't sex be doctors and nurses or kiss chase, and money management be pennies in a piggy bank until quite a bit older than that? :?

Little Johnny aged 7:

Please miss, my shares in TinkyWinky Toys are up 0.7%. Should I sell or should I wait for the quarterly figures from OldFashiondSweeties to come in?

Yes Johnny.

What miss?

You should either sell or wait for the quarterly figures from OldFashiondSweeties to come in.

Jeez, thanks. Now, about my relationship with Gemma and our pre-nup negotiations......

I think it all comes down to the fact that many parents today are not taking time to
converse with their children, so that many children only learn about life from dubious
sources. The state, therefore, believes it has a duty to take over.

When we learn that schools have shown virtually pornographic films to children as young as six, describing lovemaking,
masturbation, gay lovers etc I believe Stonewall was behind this promotion. I felt sick. Children are no longer children "they are kids" they have lost their innocence. It's a tragedy.

KIDS -That is something I find highly objectionable, especially when those who should know better utter it.

Parents should not hesitate to complain when their children are referred to as 'kids'. In effect the person
saying it is saying that the parents are goats. "Children" is a lovely-sounding word.

All part of Common Purpose Aggers. I could scream every time I hear the word "Kids" Became the "in". Word following B'Liar talking about his son Ewan on the BBC when he was in power. Utterly Degrading expression, now the in word with the BBC
And in general use.

Sorry but that is just a bit silly - the term 'kids' has been in common parlance for a long time, and I often use it! I often use children as well.............

I don't understand the difference between kids and children. I agree children sounds nicer. Here, if I refer to the children, instead of the kids, people would look sideways at me and think I was an upper class snob. So since I don't live in Remmers, I say kids.

I often wonder with parents working and kids in before and after school care, basically being raised by non parents, how much parental conversation on the facts of (all) life is not happening? Perhaps this is why the state feels it needs to step in.
