Too blooming right!!!!!
The story of The Widows Mite from the bible comes to my mind when these celebs start spouting at us. I expect I would miss a tenner far more than most of them would miss a grand!

Another one here.
I have never liked Bob Geldof and the thought of him lecturing the world about what we should all be doing makes my blood pressure rise more than a bit.
And here's one reason why I don't like "Saint" Bob.

Careful with that article, it states that the "principal" writer get 50%. They may not win.
As for the statement of £10 to help? If everyone from 16 - 65 paid £10 it would probably raise about £400M. If we took £100,000 from everyone who has £2M or more in the UK, you would probably net less. Also it is feasible for almost everyone who is working, to subscribe to £5 a month for charity. A net sum of around £1.8 BILLION Every Single Year.
This is simple economics. It's why Sky pays such huge sums for the rights to broadcast sports...

I never liked Geldof or the Boomtown Rubbish.
What was never that well know, and is now almost forgotten in the mists of time, is that Midge Ure co-wrote "Do they know it's Christmas" with Geldof. He also produced it, when nobody else would take it on, whilst at the same time massaging the egos of those who did not get star billing. A poor song with poor production would not have made anything like what has become a Christmas classic.
Geldof, on the other hand, went on TV looking as though he had slept in a skip and began berating anybody who came to mind in the foulest language possible.
Geldof gets a title and with it a load of cash, Ure gets to be forgotten.
Now he is at it again, Well, squire, you can go stick one up yourself. I will support the charities I support and no amount of ranting and raving by you will get me to support one of yours.

I have my regular monthly charities already - rather more than a tenner all added up, thanks very much - so Bob can rant as much as he likes

Yes but he's not ranting at you.....
He's ranting at those who don't pay for anything but fags and beer.... Different position.
I have little time for Geldof either. However he did do something others would not take on. Granted he made as much of it as possible, but that's the way he is...
