Will the police report themselves for wasting police time?

Some woman, Katie Hopkins, made some tweets about Ebola and Glaswegians and now the police are getting involved, or more correctly:
Det Insp Glyn Roberts, of Police Scotland, said: "We have received a number of complaints regarding remarks made on Twitter.

"Inquiries are ongoing into the nature of these tweets and to establish any potential criminality.

"Police Scotland will thoroughly investigate any reports of offensive or criminal behaviour online and anyone found to be responsible will be robustly dealt with."

Inquiries ongoing? Thoroughly investigate? What the Hell is there to investigate? The tweets are out there FCOL. Send a couple of plods round and arrest her, either that or get them to give her a bollocking she will never forget and warn her not to do it again.

The woman is an attention-seeking menace. The equivalent of the American 'Shock Jock', she will say anything to gain attention!!

I am sick of the time the police waste on Tweets, shock-jock or not.

Make Twitter/Facebook, and similar, police themselves and immediately delete offensive posts. They are money making machines through their members and advertising, let them pay to police themselves, don't leave it to the many of us (taxpayers) who never use their services to keep them clean.

I wonder sometimes whether Twitter should be banned altogether, as so many people
paid to do a job spend far too much time playing about on Twitter than doing their job.

I tried once to forward a message to our local police, and found that their website told
me to contact them on Twitter. What is the world coming to?

When we are shown MPs in Parliament, you often see them playing with their smartphones, etc.,
like stupid children, instead of paying attention to the proceedings. What's happened to discipline?

No wonder this country is going to the dogs.

I came across a quotation recently that is perhaps apt....

"A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within."
