Westminster child abuse inquiry.

Postby Workingman » 02 Jan 2015, 20:04

Is this another reason the inquiry into historic child abuse claims has stalled? In times past here have often been whispers about members of the Royal Family, but the of actions and indiscretions of the Princes Charles and Edward are said to be more than rumour. And Princess Anne is known to be no Saint when it comes to her flirtations with the men of the household.

Could it be that some of the lines of the inquiry might get too close for comfort with their RHs? If some of the more juicy stories about Charles are true his reign could be over before it has begun. They could even bring the House down.

The delay in finding a chairman for the inquiry has gone beyond farce and it is beginning to look as though the Establishment wants it kicked into the long grass. If these delays continue I would not put it past John Mann, MP, from following Geoffrey Dickens' example and using Parliamentary privilege to read out his list of names in the HoC. He will probably get good backing from two other MPs, Simon Danczuk and Tom Watson. It is about time something happened.

I think the odd gay relationship, or knocking off the hired help is one thing (I had a close friend who knew police officers who worked in Protection, so know that definitely happened) - but child abuse by a Royal? :?

Just to add, I see in that report that the claim is in the States. There 'underage' can mean well over 16, in fact any age under 21

Seventeen in this case, not very classy but not exactly child abuse.

I am not denying that child abuse may have taken place by the Westminster elite - I don't know.

But what is obvious is that these "it's all an establishment cover up" stories can just run and run, for years and years.

Can I just ask - where's the proof? Was it all shredded years ago in the aforesaid possible cover up? If so, what proof are we looking for? Proof that has been destroyed, or proof that never existed?

Abuse might have happened but some of the stuff on the Daily Mail website comments is straight off the tinfoil hat websites. No proof, no names, just general accusations.

Until there is some proof, and arrests and convictions as opposed to the recent police and CPS tactics of arresting people in a big blaze of publicity, hoping that some more accusers step forward, meanwhile bailing the accused for eighteen months before deciding to drop the case, I'm reserving judgement.

Yes, I'd agree. But it seems the HRH in question has perhaps led a bit of a "questionable" life, judging by reports on some of his "business contacts", so the mass-media will no doubt be frothing at the mouth over it all.

I'm still waiting for the predicted mass arrests in the Rotherham and Rochdale scandals, Crommers .... all very iffy, isn't it?

Well that is what John Mann is complaining about. He has handed dossiers to the police naming names, locations and times and the police appear to be sitting on them. Dickens named names in parliament and no action was taken. Two men and a boy have died in suspicious circumstances. Danczuk claimes to have files about the dossier handed to Brittan. However, there will not be arrests or convictions if the police will not investigate.

Were these accusations being made about, say, a council home in a provincial town there would be calls for blood. Yet this is the Establishment, the people who make the laws and rules to control us, those at the centre of the Elite, and people are prepared to sit on the fence.

Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford, High Wycombe, Oldham, Blackburn, Bradford etc etc... don't hold your breath waiting for the arrests, Os.
Funny thing. This exact crime of the grooming of vulnerable young girls is linked largely to one "community", has been known about and ignored for decades - and trust me, it will still be happening. Now it has finally been raised to the surface by the actions of one brave woman, it has been pushed off the front page by this maybe, perhaps, could have, might have problem from thirty years since.

I am baffled as to why the police not properly investigating child abuse allegations around the country can be used as an excuse for them not to investigate allegations of child abuse within the Establishment, even though some of the events took place thirty years ago. It could even be that they were warned off in some of these other cases in case their investigations got too close to those in high places: see Cyril Smith for details.

As for the 'Celeb Fest' undertaken by the CPS following Savile. I said at the time that I was not comfortable with the 'scatter-gun' approach, an approach which would pull the innocent and guilty alike. That it did catch out Hall, Clifford, DLT, Harris, and a few others, still does not make it right. It was more by good luck than good management that it caught the few, but it hurt some innocents in the process.

I am completely baffled by the whole business. I find it hard to believe that all
these alleged abuses have taken place in the past and apparently routinely covered up.

I can truthfully say that, looking back over the years, I cannot recall ever hearing about
any sex-abuse of children. If it was going on it must have been in places other than
the Midland market town where I spent most of my life.
