RIP to the people murdered in this attack.

You know what? Right this minute our knock kneed politicians are frantically putting together the usual platitudes.

About how they "utterly condemn" this "vile act". BUT... tiny minority.. vast majority of peace loving muslims.... commyoooonity... etc etc etc

I am absolutely SICK of listening to spineless verbiage like this, and it will be all over the TV shortly.

It will be an interesting exercise to compare and contrast the reportage of this incident with the peaceful demonstrations against the Islamisation of Europe being held in Germany.

It will be especially interesting to hear what the community from which these attackers came has to say.

How many more of these atrocities do we, the innocent public, have to face before the our "leaders" take notice and do something against them; or will it be left to "the people" to take matters into their own hands?

It's very bad timing for Frau Merkel. She's just finished saying that Pegida are "filled with hate" and today she's seen what real hate looks like.

I bet she won't say a dicky bird about this.

Militant Islam and Ebola are two of the biggest potential evils in the world today. The best course is to attempt to contain both within their borders and not let them spread into the western world but it is rather late for that. I was surprised to learn from a Christmas card from a friend that there was a big presence in California of Islam and the card was only printed with "Holiday Season Greeting" :(

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in "les pouvres banlieues" of Paris, Lyon, Marseilles and Bordeaux in the coming days/nights.

It would not surprise me if the Front National make the most of this.

The Vox Pop of the Guardianista are calling, by quite a wide margin, for the satirical cartoons of Muhammed to be printed on the front cover of that newspaper (and every other Western newspaper) tomorrow, as a demonstration of free speech and in solidarity with the murdered journalists.

Bet the media don't have the bottle to do it, though .....

I have read a few reports and can hear the journos and editors choking when they have to use the word "Islamist" to describe the attack. Some of them don't even bother to hide their ambiguity, they simply use 'terrorist attack' and leave it there.

I see Dave Cameron has condemned the attack on twitter

What sort of Prime Minister do we have, who spends his time farting about on Twitter?

I've been watching this all day as it is very "close to home" for me.

Personally I think that the idea of printing the cartoons in every paper in the world (not just the western one's), would be a perfecgt idea. Maybe get the radical idiots to realise that there is a whole big world out there which might, if annoyed enough, just sort of step on them and scrape the mess off their shoes afterwards.

They were heard calling "God is great" in Arabic. It's certainly not the wise old owl in a white dressing gown and jesus boots, it's the guy dressed in black.... So it's Islamist and if they can't say what it is, then they need to step down and let someone else tell us the truth.

This will play badly in France. FN will win a huge swathe of votes over it and attitudes from the Government will harden even more. There may even be a few "oops" police killings of Moslems over the next 12 months. No officer will wind up in court either, they'll be justified because of the level of the threat.

If a bunch of Christians broke into Al Jazeera and offed a dozen or so "murder TV" types, the whole world would be up in arms and "demand changes" and they would be vilifying the whites as "racists".....

I just hope that as the weeks and months go by, people notice that we're just supposed to "let it go" and not offend the Moslems in case they take offense.... Then I hope they vote on it.

I'm also waiting to see if the German churches and cathedrals dim their lights in mourning for the murdered French. I guess I'll be waiting a long time for that. But I can tell you that the Germans won't miss it. Not for a second. Horrible as it is, this activity is a wake up call for all Europeans as to what they harbour in their midst. Not even harbour but encourage by every action of biased racism against their own indigenous citizens....

One of these days someone is going to see these gunmen coming and is going to kill some of them. I wonder if they'll wind up on trial for "use of excessive force"???

I'm in an exceedingly bad mood about this and I'm going out for a pint with a friend tonight. I'm fervently hoping that no Islamic idiot gets in my face tonight. I'm seriously not in the mood for it.

Just a point here about Twitter. Cameron can probably reach more people on Twitter than on every UK TV channel. However he should also be making a clear statement on TV and in the house as soon as possible. In fact I believe he's Just been in a summit with Merkel. They should make a joint statement.... But they won't....
