Yesterday CBeebies showed an episode of Tweenies from 2001 featuring Max as a spoof Jimmy Savile. OK, that's not a hanging offence. Most of those watching would not realise the relevance, but some would and the complaints rolled in.
Now most people will not have seen this, so what does the BBC do by way of an apology? It prints the story with an offending picture writ large at the top of the piece: cue more complaints...
On the same day it carried the swearing in of Obama, again no problem. However, it headlined it on the UK news pages under "More from the UK - UK Politics". Again a storm of protests. It is now running Obama's inauguration in the same place!
Is the BBC setting out to annoy people or has it employed people with a lack of, well, intelligence?
