This is standard commissioned officer resettlement. Sounds cheap to me.

People whinge when we pay for them to represent us. Then they whinge when they are entitled to standard training. Next, after denying resettlement, people will demand he is removed from the civil list.

Do you see the basic unfairness? I certainly do.

Relax, it could be Blair. 15k would not pay his dining bill.

Be thankful for what you do have. It could be much worse.

He does not need the money, but it is what he signed up for.

A good PR exercise for Harry would be for him to donate it to one of the Forces charities of which he is a patron.

They are just treating him like any other officer who put his life on the line for this country, and he does a lot for forces charities, in particular the Invictus Games last summer.

I like Harry.

but this is what bugs -for Officers_ have'nt ALL the service personnel put their lives on the line -do they all get 15,000--or is the "ordinary" serviceman/woman still treated as cannon fodder?

Officers get thousands, grunts get hundreds. But then the ratio of grunts to Officers is hundreds to one. So, in the end, they spend more on Grunts than Officers.

This is nothing special and I agree with WM, it would shut everyone up if he gave the money to a charity. However I'm not even sure that he gets money, more like resettlement courses to the value of.
