Liberia declared free of Ebola

After 42 days with no new infection.
The wiki page on the outbreak is woefully out of date, still showing new cases in the last week. However this is extremely good news for Africa and the Liberians.
Hopefully this will be the start of a rapid end to the disease. Certainly teams supporting the efforts have one huge area down and can shift their resources to the two remaining countries. Perhaps this will finally close it down faster.
It has been a particularly darwinnian process but I hope that this huge outbreak will have given these areas the knowledge and ability to contain any new infection quickly and effectively. We know that Ebola will break out again, but when it does the actions needed to stop it will save thousands of lives.
I just hope the lives this outbreak cost save many tens of thousands of lives in the future.
