Labour Leaders

The fist hustings has finished, and I know this is very sad, but I watched it.

There were two winners and two losers. Jeremy Corbyn and Liz Kendall won because they answered with truth and stuck to their guns. Andy Burnham and Yvette Cooper lost with the tired same old same old.

The Tories will want Corbyn to win because he is stuck in the Michael Foot days. Kendall will be the one they do not want to win because she is the one who will hit the spot with Labour supporters, those who have defected and the traditional floating voter.

Listening to the chosen audience it sounded like the leadership will, first and foremost, be about keeping Labour alive.

It was always going to be like that. Kendall is a 100% Blairite. She'll be doing the "Change, change" mantra. Change from what, to what? There won't be any details, just slogans.

Corbyn believes what he says but what he says will sink Labour at the next election faster than the Titanic.

If this is the best that Labour have...

I had a look at the list of Labour MPs.......

It is a bit of a shame that Mary Creagh was not supported and also that Rachel Reeves did not stand.

I am not and never will be a Labour supporter, but those two seem like independent minded people who could turn Labour into the opposition the country desperately needs.

I'm not at all keen on Mysterious Mary, but I agree that Rachel Reeves has something about her.

It matters not whether we like them, it is up to Labour supporters.

Creagh is not scared to speak her mind and Reeves is very popular in W. Leeds, her constituency, because she listens. She is out there and is not unknown to hold a conversation (debate) with anyone who approaches her.

As you have probably noted, I don't care who Labour elects. Of course I would like it to be the most left wing pie in the sky idiot. But you can't have everything you want can you????

I'd like them to enter the Donkey into the competition. With a rosette on it's Ass.......

In places like most of South Yorkshire, the donkey would get elected, too.

If you painted a log red they'd vote for it.

Indeed.

Well they did leave themselves open to it and it is not as if they were not told.

Amusing from my point of view.
