Regime Change...

There is more than one kind of Regime Change. The direct one is when you pick up your army and walk over a country then implement a new regime.

The indirect one is when you effectively humiliate and destroy a government by forcing it to do things it has promised the people it will not.

Right about now it must be percolating through the Greek consciousness that a vote to stay in the Euro is a vote FOR Austerity. They must be waking up to the reality that Austerity is controlled by those who hold the purse strings and if your central bank is in Frankfurt then the purse strings are not held by the Greek Government.

The ex Greek Finance Minister stated that this agreement was akin to the Versailles treaty after WW1. Most people think he's just being alarmist. However the next election will tell. Because the Greeks who want a little more home rule and a lot more control over their own finances are just realising that the only people who really want to do that are the politically (and maybe mentally), unstable Golden Dawn party.

There was a time when I would have said that a far right neo Nazi party would never have made it into Swedish politics. The fact that they are now the 3rd largest party in the Swedish parliament is testament to the hopelessness many people feel in the face of an EU which is undemocratic and cares nothing for the individuality of the countries of which it is comprised. In fact the EU is determined to grind any nationalistic fervour under a mountain of dunlopillo, smothered to death and crushed into pieces.

Greece? Where does it go now. About now people are remembering something that the Governments of the EU never forgot. Syriza itself is not really a party but a coalition of far left "interests". Those interests are now not marching in accord. It should, if political parties run true to form, implode within the next two years or so.

Effectively creating regime change. What will replace it will almost certainly shock the hell out of the EU. As ordinary Greeks realise that Euro and EU == Austerity and Overlord.

I wonder how many governments of the EU are looking at David Cameron with envy today??? The Finns almost certainly.

If only they knew the reality of the Tory party.....

More fun and games coming to us live by the second over the next few months...

Exactly what was said on the news by a former advisor to Tsipras.

Apparently a lot will depend on what happens on Greek streets in the next few days and weeks - not months. There was violence on the streets last night and civil servants, municipal workers and pharmacy owners went on strike during the day.

The leaves are starting to fall from the tree.

It's certainly clear what happened with Varoufakis now. Tsipras has clearly said "We need to capitulate". Varoufakis has said "Get yourself another white drawer of water and hewer of wood"!

I tend to find politics is like time. Constantly flowing forward, no going back so no point in looking back.

I do wonder if any of the smaller countries will look back at the statements they jeered at only 5 months ago.

"We are trying to save you all"

They said.

Now I wonder how many of the smaller countries will revisit that statement and remember that interest rates are set for the large country economies. Monetary and economic policy is set for the large country economies. Those smaller countries who do not either become second class citizens due to lower income; thus spending more than they can afford; will be punished as Greece has been.

It should have been a wakeup call. In fact it was ignored by the dozing minions.
