Corbyn picks Livingstone

To chair the Labour Trident review.

Well he's made his position even plainer hasn't he. I once worked with a guy who had a large brass keyring with a hand drawn CND symbol cast into it with the words.

"Y Fronts prevent fallout".

Says it all for me. The job of the government of the UK is to protect the citizens of the UK. Being the #3 nuclear capable country in the world ensures that the UK is not one which would be attacked with a nuclear weapon without those who attack understanding that the response would be both short, radioactive and cataclysmic.

Anyone who does not believe that the government of the UK should have that protection for their citizens does not belong in government in my mind. Anyone who says they cannot use that deterrent, in the case that the UK needs it, should not ever become PM of this country to my mind.

Although people like Corbyn believe that we should just give up our security, the reality of M.A.D (Mutually Assured Destruction), is as alive today as it was in the 1950's. Although the world has finally adjusted to the fact that you can no longer just try to take over half the world without fear of total destruction, allowing aggressive nations to adjust to that reality, the need for that deterrent has never changed.

After all, if we did not need a deterrent to stop violent elements from just taking what they wanted, we would not need police or laws. A nuclear deterrent is just a combination of laws and police for state sponsored violence. I thought everyone understood that after two world wars that killed over 60 million people.

Apparently not....

If the reality of the first Iraq war and the war currently raging in Syria and Iraq has not yet penetrated to some, this is exactly why we have that deterrent. So that when monsters like the IS attempt to extend their reign of religious terror beyond the borders of their current operations, they can be advised that to do so would be to end their entire society. After all, IS claim all the land in North Africa, Southern Spain and Portugal, all of the middle east and also the "Stans" south of Russia.....

Currently we are bombing a few tens of thousands of them. What do we do when it becomes 1 million or 10 million or 100 million? Which would be the reality if we do not stop it right now.

My main consolation in this is that Livingscum is no longer so popular as he was once the revelations of his games, nepotism and cronyism were uncovered when he left the Mayor of London's office.

My main concern is the kind of people Corbyn wants to ally himself with. People who could cause trouble in an empty room. I wonder when gorgeous George will leave respect and flock to the banner???

However I do want Corbyn to remain as leader until after the next election....

I have searched all the news websites and there is no mention of this anywhere. There are pictures of Corbyn being increasingly isolated with only Diane Abbot for support! Where is the Deputy? No mention of him anywhere.

Here's the report, Rodo:

As for Watson, probably too busy lobbying coppers and chasing historical nonces ...

I would have respect for some of the senior Labour politicians if they now resigned from the shadow cabinet. Why won't they?

Thanks for the links chaps. Sometimes words aren't enough. What a total shambles they are, to be so entrenched in their old ideologies as to be prepared to neglect the safety of the people they are supposed to be looking after.
