Does anyone remember

Postby KateLMead » 04 Dec 2015, 10:40

I am not sure whether it was the last election or the previous one that thousands of election voters forms were found in a barn, that numerous postal votes would be addressed to the head of houses in Muslim areas where the residents could not speak English. Vote rigging went on as it appears it has been doing so in Cordyns latest success. The latest assumption and revelation expressed by Farage this morning does not surprise me.

I've never had much faith in the postal vote Kate, which originally was meant for voters who were physically unable to get to the poll or for people who were out of the country at the time. I would imagine it is well and truly open to abuse by those who wish to cheat the system.

Regarding UKIP, I wonder if it has now peaked and is on the decline. Perhaps those who voted last time were disappointed at the large number of votes polled by UKIP but which only yielded one MP.

I do, quite clearly.

If it is true that..
some wards had voted exclusively for Labour.
then there does need to be some questions answered.

Also if it is true that postal votes turned up at polling stations, then they should have been excluded.

Cheating is a fairly hard thing to judge as to how much you cheat. Because if you do decide to cheat and then the election does not go as badly as you thought it would, then the suspicions start to form. Because the result is wildly outside what would have been expected.

I guess we'll have to wait for the investigation. But, then again, if the people who perpetrated the crime (if there was one), are the people investigating it...... nuff said.

I have never been a fan of postal votes unless in exceptional circumstances. It need a serious looking at and overhaul.

With regards to Oldham; it will be interesting to know what the Electoral Commission comes up with and what it will do about it.

The result is very wide of the mark of what was predicted, especially on only a 40% turnout. Had the turnout been at GE levels it is likely that Labour's majority would have been greater. In the present political climate that would not be possible.

Here is an example of how easy proxy voting / postal voting is to rig.

I can't even raise a smile at that. I've heard of bulk buying, but not bulk voting. No wonder Nigel is foaming at the mouth.

I suppose corruption is the norm, sadly most of the public consider it par for the course.
