Douglas Carswell

I said from day one on learning Douglas Carswell had left the " CONS' to join UKIP was no more than a plant, intent on creating as many problems for Farage as possible.. He is running true to form in his attempts to unseat him.
What won't these political crooks resort too? I would think these wastes of space have more in common with Corbyn. God protect us from these Traitors.

Well either that or he saw an opportunity for a promotion and is grabbing it with both hands....

I have thought the former from day one Suff. Nasty piece of work if ever there was, I will vote UKIP. Our country has gone to the dogs literally and metorphorically and those in Westminster are self serving and corrupt. To think my late husband were staunch Conservatives .like all the major parties corruption and dishonesty are, and probably always have been par for the course.

Kate - When Douglas Carswell defected to UKIP he was portrayed as a thoroughly decent MP, loyal to his constituents, and they in turn were loyal to him. It seemed that he would be an asset to UKIP. But he is just out for himself, perhaps seeing the opportunity of a rapid rise to the top in UKIP and elbowing Nigel out of the way at the same time. Some may think that is fair enough, but I don't like the way he has taken every opportunity to stab Nigel Farage in the back. I think he has behaved disgracefully, no loyalty to Nigel whatsoever. I have no idea how much the Party is split and if one of them will have to go, although that looks likely. Time will tell whether UKIP members are loyal to Nigel Farage or not. In my opinion UKIP is what it is today thanks to Nigel. At least it is now in the open, but what a time to choose for Douglas Carswell to speak out. If he really wants an out of Europe vote, he is going the wrong way about it.

I thought from the moment I saw him that he was in no way true to the UKIP cause.. He is a plant I have thought this and have said so from day one. He had a safe seat and the idiots who were one time Cons voted for him. A thoroughly nasty piece of work. He will be the ruination of UKIP unless he is exposed for what he is a fraudster no more UKIP than Cameron.

Is there a double buff thing going on?

Carswell is the only MP, so must have a say; Farage is leader so he must have a say and Crowther is the chairman....

Is it all a ploy to keep UKIP in the headlines to counteract Cameron's recent EU meeting and sound bites?

All publicity is good publicity, or so they say.

I am waiting to hear Paul Nuttall's views. He has always been loyal to Nigel but he has been somewhat quiet of late.

Well yes, it would be good to hear from UKIP's MEPs, they are, after all, UKIP's main frontline troops.

Farage might be the figurehead, but there is more to UKIP than just him. It is more than time for others to speak out, and in that respect Carswell is not wrong.

I still think Carswell is a plant... Obviously Farage presents a threat to other parties this is clear on learning that there has been an attempt on his life to assassinate him .. Sadly I think Farage will resign, he is the man who has exposed the EU for what it is and will be in the future, he has been unafraid to speak out, we will face the consequences of this Euro facade and indeed we are already doing so.

I have seen Nigel once or twice lately on television commenting on the latest twists and turns of the EU referendum. He seems back to his old self and is as well versed on the subject as ever. I don't think he has anything to fear from Douglas Carswell who has all the charisma of a wet fish.
