An anthem for England.

At sporting events instead of God save the Queen (UK National Anthem)

In unofficial terms NI has Londonderry Air (Oh Danny boy), Wales has Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau (Land of my Fathers) and Scotland has O Fhluir na h-Albann (Oh flower of Scotland) so some MP now thinks it is time for England.

I am not that bothered, tbh, though I would like to hear the back of God save the Queen as it is a depressing dirge. And I do not want Jerusalem or Land of Hope and Glory, either.

Oops, maybe I am bothered.

There's nothing wrong with our National Anthem, as far as I'm concerned.

Of course, you will never please everyone.

And I'm not so sure there'll always be an England.

Well, whenever this topic has come up before, my vote has always been for (the not exactly politically correct) Flanders and Swann ....

I remember Billy Connolly saying we should have the theme from The Archers

Useful to remember that the Scottish anthem is Scotland the Brave but the sports lot picked Flower of Scotland after Roy Williamson died of cancer.
