Exactly Di, but this had stood for 3 hours and was still not cold enough to go in the fridge

I never give a thought to rice from the Indian or Chinese

I would have thought so too Di, I had honestly never heard of this before. I put leftover rice, risotto, whatever, into a Tupperware type box, let it cool a bit then into the fridge or freezer. Never ever been ill from doing this, and have done so all my adult life :?

Same as you, Kaz. My kitchen has no heating, so is cold, and once food goes cold it goes in the fridge or freezer. If rice goes in the fridge I use it within 48 hours. If not I freeze it.

I am convinced that these food H&S experts, for obvious reasons, err on the safe side.

I would have added a bit more stock to Shell's dish and made sure it was piping hot.

\well to be honest the second attempt was bloody 'andsome, whereas I don't think the first one would have been, so I have no regrets. I only had to buy the chicken and quinoa again, and used my £5 Morrisons voucher
