School curries always had them and so did some Vesta curries. :o

They, or raisins, were also a staple of chip shop curry sauce at one time. Thank God times have changed.

I always add Sultanas to my curries along with a large dollop of Mango Chutney.
Had no complaints yet so must be ok.

I'm sure it is ok - if you're in the habit of adding sultanas to curries then that's what you're all used to.

I hate the things so it's a definite no go for me.

Sultanas are for in cakes IMO - definitely not for curries. I'm having horrible flashbacks now to the 70s and Vesta curries.

I was convinced for years that I didn't like curry because they had sultanas in them

This recipe sounds lovely, will definitely be trying it!

I have been making all sorts of curries since God was in short trousers and loads of them have fruit in, especially Asian ones. The thing is that the fruit defines the dish, think sweet and sour chicken with pineapple. Just adding them, because, is so wrong.

However, in Lissie's defence, a good spoonful on mango chutney is common in loads of Indian curries.

We had a duck with pineapple dish when we went to the Thai for our anniversary, it was lush, pretty hot, it needed the pineapple :D
