What do you do with too much spinach? I'm looking for some good ideas that would use the equilivant if a bag of spinach at a time. I've got quite a few spinach plants in the garden giving me lots of lovely leaves at the moment. I was wondering about a puréed something????

Or something maybe to freeze down for later in the year.

Really not sure what to do with it all. The neighbour has enough of her own.

I don't have anything constructive - our guinea pigs would devour it!

So too would my chickens, but I figure they have enough weeds to eat at the moment.

I'd blanch and then chop it really fine and then freeze it. Lots of spinach raw becomes very little once cooked :D

I quite like spinach much to my family's disgust!

There are plenty of ways of disguising it Weka and my favourite is in Shepherds pie.

I make my Shepherds pie as usual but before I slather the mashed potato on I put a layer of lightly steamed spinach underneath it.

Another way of getting them to eat it is using it in lasagne - same sort of thing - I layer lightly steamed spinach on top of the meat but before the lasagne sheets. Same sort of thing stuffed in a cannelloni too.

I sometimes stir it through a chicken casserole too, just before serving it.

The kids know it is there but as it is mixed up with other things they are happy enough to eat it.

It is good in stir frys too.

I have made this before. Girls not keen but Mick and I liked it.

Saag! That's what I was thinking of. I couldn't remember the name. Right ill look it up and see how much I need. Thanks Kaz.
I love those ideas Deb. I can probably do the same with the silverbeet too.
