Chu chu

Postby JanB » 13 Dec 2023, 18:53

A friend has given me three chu chu, one of which is sprouting :Hi:

It tastes of nothing at all, like a potato, except it's green on the outside.

One will go in a stew, one will be fried like a chip and the spouting one will go in a pot. We will then need to have a trellis for it, apparently :D

Tried to grow one before, in the garden and failed miserably

Here, I think it is called a chayote, but I've never seen any on sale. Somewhere cosmopolitan like London, perhaps?

Yes, it seems to grow like a vine, Jan.

Thanks for that Ossie, my Portuguese mate was horrified that I don't use it more often.
