and so far most of the recipes have been quite OK for us regular folk, but the last two - a humongous bowl of prawns followed by a steak the size of 1/2 cow is probably out of financial reach of most of us?

It looked yummy though - esp the Eton Mess with Pomegranates :)

Oh didn't spot that - we've just watched last night's Last tango in Halifax :)
Which channel was it, maybe I could catch it tomorrow...I have a small stash of yummy prawns in the freezer, grabbed in Waitrose last week reduced ;)
Bb doesn't eat them, at the moment they're earmarked for eldest and I :)

I bought one of those prawn rings. I got one last year and it was good - didn't last long!

Di, I'll check what programme it was. The prawns looked yummy - she'd stir fried some ginger and spring onions and other bits I tink (I wasn't watching all the time LOL) and then chucked in the raw prawns - loads of them - which were then served with nothing but bread.

Very simple but as I love prawns absolutely delicious.

I found the recipe here: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/nige ... index.html

Rodo, where did you get your ring from? I've got my mom with me for 2 weeks over Christmas and I would quite like to have loads of little snacky type foods in the house so we can just relax and chill. And we both love prawns so :) :) :)

Ria, those ingredients look a lot like the base of Thai prawns - without the noodles and beansprouts.

I notice that just about all the supermarkets have prawn rings this year.

With regards pomegranates.

I am not a fan of raspberries or strawberries, but I always fancied and Eton mess. ASDA were doing their own range of pomegranates in juice. Once the juice was poured off they were just like fresh - expensive though.
