I love my cooking pans, I can never resist the temptation if I see really good quality saucepans in charity shops.. "I buy them" trouble is trying to find somewhere to stack them!!!
In my old age I tend to forget that I have left the hob on and my lovely saucepans get burned beyond ones imagination, it meant binning them until a friend said. Don't throw them Kate take a dishwasher tablet, put hot water in the pan with the dishwasher tablet and leave it overnight. Miracle!!!! this morning another saucepan has been saved, the really serious burnt saucepan is now with little effort to clean it sparkling!!!! I am sure many of you are aware of this miracle cleaner, however for those who are not it is here.

Thanks for the tip Kate. I am more concerned about you leaving the hob on though  ((((((((Kate))))))) It must be a pain forgetting this and then having to clean your pan collection. Have you thought about having a timer on, so that it rings after a set time? It might save you some cleaning time :D

Absolutely what Loz said, a timer would be a very good idea  :)

Washing powder also cleans burnt pans, if you soak overnight 8-) ;)

Kate is there a timer on your cooker, or would you need a separate one?

A friend used to have one she could hang around her neck - it was actually because she would be gardening and forget the time! She used it for all sorts of things, but at least it reminds you something needs doing ;)

I use my cooker timer all the time, especially if I'm not staying in the kitchen :)

Just thought, I can always turn the microwave on that rings out whenever required to do so! what a state of affairs.
I went to Hereford hospital with Gus for my check up, when in Hereford I said that I thought I had left the hob on with a stock pot on it.. Worried all the way there and all the way back. It was off!!

Kate you can't run the microwave on empty

Just get a proper little timer Kate, one that can hang around your neck. You'll soon get used to using it and it will put all our minds at rest ;)

Please don't use your microwave as a timer Kate. Di's idea of a little timer you can wear is a good idea :)
