I had a go at making monkey bread today. No idea why it is called monkey bread - I spotted it on the Pink Whisk blog and thought it looked fab.
I haven't tried it yet as it is still cooling but it smells delicious. It was very easy to make.
Here is the recipe if anyone fancies making it.

Yum! Reading the recipe though it looks very sweet! More like a cake than a bread
Let us know how it tastes

It tastes wonderful but next time I will cover it in foil from the start as some of the ones on the bottom are a little hard.

It tastes cakey.
My kids, being my kids aren't at all enthused about it and haven't even tried it yet (they just got home).
They don't like new things!!!!

Oh mine would dig in, anything remotely 'cakey' gets the thumbsup here

That looks lovely
I prefer the savoury breads, but if I had a lot of mouths to impress I'd definitely do one of those, I'm sure the breadmaker would do the dough for me

The breadmaker should do it Di. I opted to do it by hand but it would have worked just as well in the machine.
And Ally you have been quite polite saying it looks like dog food. My friend on FB said it looked like dog poo!!!!!

Oooh that's something that my American friend is often making for her boys, which she says lasts no time at all - it looks gorgeous and looking at the recipe, with cinnamon in it it'd last no time at all here either!
Thanks for the recipe!
