Achari chicken

I'm making this tomorrow for the first time. :D :D

Has anyone ever made it?

The recipe is from Northern India and uses mostly different seeds for its flavour, onion seeds, fennel seeds, fenugreek and mustard seeds, etc.

I'm really looking forward to it already and it's only 5pm on a Friday!

I don't think I've ever had it, but it sounds lovely! Aromatic rather than hot 8-) 8-)

It is Di..I got the idea from a menu that I asked for when we had that fabulous Indian meal last Friday in Fuengirola. :D :D

There's a few meals on there that I've now googled and copied the recipes.

I'll let you know how I get on if you like? :)

It sounds like another of those northern Indian curries, Murg, with yoghurt.

They are always spicy and can be hot or mild depending on the amount of chillies.

Count me in for a taster. :D :D :D

You shouldn't need to ask :D
Actually I had meant to ask what you'd had at that meal, so am glad you've mentioned doing this one. I probably have all the spices - mind you, I hope the fenugreek is powder, I remember once trying to grind the damned stuff, it's like granite ;)

I had the chicken pathya which was absolutely delicious..and along with all the pickles, naans, etc, it was just one of those meals that stay in your mind as being 'extra special'. :D

I've never had fenugreek in my store cupboard so it will be interesting to see what it even looks or smells like.

We have a store in town that is owned by a Moroccan family and every so often they drive over and come back with their car full of spices. :D :D

A few weeks ago I bought an enormous bag of cumin seeds for one euro! :D :D

If me and you ever meet Di it'll be a very food orientated conversation.

Lol yes it could be :D Mind you when Fugi and I met it wasn't, particularly - but then there's never enough time to cover everything, not the way I can talk for England ;)

Fenugreek is a flavour you will recognise instantly, very pungent and aromatic - I've heard it described as 'strong armpit' :D
Seriously though, the seeds are like little metal chunks, it's one instance when I'd just stick with the powder ;)
I love chicken pattya :)
