The Hairy Not So Dieters

Postby debih » 20 Jan 2014, 18:04

I was trying to be organised tonight and whilst cooking dinner for tonight (one pot of chicken slop for us and a pan of pasta in cheese sauce for L and a pan of rice) I was also making the beef and ale casserole from the HB'sbbook for dinner tomorrow.

Fry onions. Check.

Add beef. Check.

Add stock and beer. Check.

Add two tablespoons tomato purée. Check.

Add two teaspoons sugar. Oh no!

Guess which fool added two TABLESPOONS of sugar.

It seems to taste okay so far - still has a good hour of cooking left though. I added some Worcestershire sauce to try to counteract the sweetness a little.

Doesn't make it quite so diet friendly though!

It tasted ok. It was a bit like a jar of sauce with the sweetness but it wasn't overly sweet.

Would have been better without the extra sugar though.

Definitely making it again - properly next time.
