My nails have got so much stronger since I've been using the gel. Every so often I give them a rest for a week or two, and plenty of nail oil, but if I leave them naked for too long they start to get thin and split.

Debih, I'm not sure I can recommend the Sensationails. I like the polish and it lasts well, but the lamp has gone a bit dodgy now. Whether it's just a cheap version or whether the lead has come loose I'm not sure, but it seems to have only lasted for about two years.

Mine get like that if I don't wear polish ( have a bit of a routine going now - apply polish: undercoat first, 2 coats of polish and a top coat; on a Friday, remove when chips have appeared, usually by the Thursday, leave a day to 'breathe' and then start again - seems to be working well for me 8-)

I don't think I would attempt to do the gel nails myself, I am hopeless at anything artistic or fiddly! They cost me £15 every three or four weeks, and a new set (£30) maybe three times a year, not that much in the scheme of things ;)
