Dressy dresses! Update.....

Postby Osc » 25 May 2019, 19:02

I was on the lookout for a couple of inexpensive dresses for our cruise in July. I love when Edward is with me because he has a good eye and actually found both of these. The first one, although not strictly formal, will be great for black and white night, with the addition of jewellery.

This one was on the TK Maxx clearance rail and is one of my favourite colours. It needs a little work, I’d say it needs to be taken up about a foot  but hopefully that will get rid of the grubby bits on the bottom where people have stood on it and dragged it on the floor - I’ll also have it cleaned. It is extremely well made, with light boning on the bodice and a sort of built in bra - although that might need some looking at, as the boobs didn’t look so great in it today and I might have to look into incorporating one of my bras into it. Still, for €28 plus alteration and cleaning, it feels like a great bargain to me!

Love both of those! The first one is fun - definitely just right for the occasion mentioned - and the second is just stunning! :o :D 8-)

Edward thinks that seven weeks is not enough time for me to look as good as the model

Very chic.

Mrs.e has started getting her outfits out for our cruise in June. We have a garment rail and she hangs them on it until she starts packing.

Have not bought anything new as she says it is not as good or fashionable as the outfits she already has.

Have a good cruise. Which ship are you going on? We are on the Independence of the Seas.

We are going on the Queen Victoria - we have moved from RCCL as we love the proper ballroom and orchestra for dancing on Cunard ships. We actually bought a garment rail yesterday and nearer the time, I will start hanging outfits on it, Edward’s as well as mine. We are going to the Baltics and St Petersburg.

Osc,
We have been to the Baltic twice. At St petersburg you musgo to the Heritage museum esoecially the Amber room and Catherine's palace. You probably won't have time to see everything evn ifyouare thee two days.

We liked helsinki and Tallin

Have a good cruise

The pink dress has turned out really well - had it taken up and cleaned, tried it on yesterday and I’m delighted with it. Cost €28 + €25 for alteration + €15 for cleaning - resulting in a lovely evening dress for €68!
