What did you use when you first started cleansing and moisturising?

I remember when I was about 13 or 14 not liking the feeling that soap left on my skin.

My mum used Anne French (anyone remember this?) cleansing milk and so my sis and I followed suit.

My first moisturiser was Astral..I used these 2 products until my late teens.

What did you use?

I can't remember the first cleanser I used but I know that the first moisturiser was Oil of Olay (or was it Oil of Ulay then). My nan had used it for years and gave me a pot.

I think I might have used a Johnsons baby product as a cleanser - it came in a pink bottle and had a really distinctive smell.

I haven't used "proper" soap on my face for years now. For years and years I only used Clinique - cleansing facial wash or cleansing soap for washing with and then their moisturiser morning and night. Then the girls came along and money was tighter so I switched and now just tend to buy whatever is on offer when it comes to moisturiser (I find Avon quite good but we don't have an Avon lady anywhere near us now so I just tend to look in the supermarket. I quite like the Simple range) but I do still splash out on the Clinique cleansing facial wash.

I use my moisturiser religiously morning and night.

Hand cream is another biggy for me - I have tubs of the stuff everywhere and am constantly slathering my hands in it.

I've used cleanser (not soap and water) since my early teens as has my sis.

I would find it too drying on my skin.

I'm the same with hand cream..have tubes of the stuff everywhere and it's the same with lip balms.

I've spent most of my adult life falling into bed at night without taking my make-up off and that included sleeping in my false eyelashes! Especially when we ran a pub and restaurant as it was two in the morning most days before we could get to bed and I was always knackered. But my skin tone and complexion is good even though I don't deserve it

Cleaning my skin in the mornings really mattered so it used to be cleansing creams/lotions and cotton wool/tissues-never, never, never soap and water. Now I use a Liz Earle type hot muslin face cleanser or face-wipes. Used to use cream moisturisers but now I always use a face oil which feels gorgeous, soaks in ready for just lippy or a bit more than that if I feel like it or going out.

Hand creams all over the place for me too.

I'm using Superdrug's take on Liz Earle's hot muslin and cleanser Fugi and very impressed with it.

I think it's about a fiver for a massive tube and 2 cloths...way cheaper than the Liz stuff.

That's the one I'm using too Ally and it is just as good as Liz Earle's for a bargain price. I like Superdrug's copycat products more than the Boots ones

Anne French and a blob of my mum's face creams which were usually either Oil of Ulay or Ponds as a teen Then when I started buying my own I used Simple products for many many years (I have incredibly sensitive skin) until suddenly they weren't moisturising enough, and now I use Olay Regenerist

I like the sound of that. I am going into town tomorrow so I will call in and have a look. Superdrug is one of the few shops we do have in town! Most of our shops are charity shops or estate agents!

As a mere male, I am not into this hi tech stuff!!
When I have had a shave, using an electric razer, I put on after shave balm. I am using L'Occitan at the moment. Mrs.e wont let me use the liquid ones as she says it dries up my skin.
If my cheeks get red, I have to rub collagen gel on them. Mrs.e says she doesn't want me with wrinkled skin.
Mrs. e uses several different creams and lotions and has very good skin considering her age-two years older than me.
