Snow/Waterproof Boots

I've had my eye on these for ages, every time that we go to Go Outdoors I try them on and gaze down lovingly at them but they're £135 in there and, even though John always says "buy them", I can't being myself to plus they only stock brown and I'd want black. They feel so comfortable though. Anyway, I was browsing on Amazon last night and they have the black in my size at £83...so they'll be here in the next few days. John always has Merrell's waterproof walking shoes and won't consider any other brand.
I've got a pair of Decathlon's own brand snow boots, although they also look like a suede fashion boot, and this is my third Winter of wearing them and they've been absolutely brilliant. They've not let in any rain (or snow - they were severely tested in 2013), plus I've walked through streams in them and stayed dry, and are toasty warm but a couple of weeks ago one of the pull up tabs broke off one of the zips. John fixed it back on with pliers but it just came off again so now I have a rather trendy cable tie attached to the zip to pull them up with
