Debenhams personal shoppers

Has anyone any experience of them?

Shopping for clothes is a bit of a problem.
Our town has barely any sensible shops - Peacocks, New Look, White Stuff, and a smattering of expensive individual boutiques.
The M&S is a food store, so a few clothes but mainly useful for click & collect, so long as you know what you want.

I've long said I need to go to Southampton, but tbh there's then too much choice
Where to go, what to look for?!
I do know roughly what I'm after, but don't have the energy to go looking for it/them.
It's partly the actual physical looking through rails - thanks to buggered shoulder it's really hard keeping my arm up.
But also the time it takes looking, walking, through huge shop floors. And trying on is difficult, and tiring.
So many things look ok on the hangers, or I'm not sure; I can't do low necks, or baggy necks, and it's often hard to tell till you try them on. I''ve quite a small frame so often size 12 is way too big and baggy...

Today I started looking at the Debenhams website and saw they have quite a few versions of cropped trousers and jeans, which I really want. But how to know which size, whether they really are 'high rise' etc - and few reviews.
Then I remembered someone on fb mentioning personal shoppers, and them being free.
So I had a look, and it doesn't have to be a special occasion or anything, and nothing about a minimum spend, so I thought, well, this could be a good solution with any luck.
Apparently you get 90 minutes; so presumably I can tell them I want crops, on the waist, plus nice tops, no baggy necklines, and maybe if they're really clever, even a dress?

Totally useless information Di - but my sister would have made a fantastic personal shopper. :D

The first time I went to ladies day at Ascot I wanted the whole caboodle - new dress, cardie, sandals, bag, hat....even new undies!

Michele and I went into Debenhams and of course, me being me, had a meltdown at the array of rails and clothes.

Fear not sis Michele said..get yourself stripped off in a cubicle and I will bring you clothes to try on. :D

Within 30 minutes she'd supplied me with the most gorgeous dress (John Rocha which I still have as it will never date) a matching little cardi (still have it) a hat (ditto!) and sandals. :D :D

M&S for new undies and I was sorted.

I hope you get the help you want - it's always nice to have someone's help and opinion when trying on clothes.

And none of this getting dressed again to get more clothes to go back in and get undressed again!

I wish I lived nearer Di, we could have a great time with me being your PS, and you sitting there with a nice coffee while I did the running around :D :( I would love to do that 8-)

I've never used one, as for me the finding and trying is the fun part, but why not try it out? I'm sure it would be a lot less tiring and you might well get some really good ideas  Not that you ever look anything but good anyway 8-) :)

I think I'll just book it and see, when I've decided on a good day to go.
If it works it'd be a godsend.

If not I'll send out an sos for Kaz and Michele :D

I think you should just go ahead and book it.

Its not costing you anything so you've nothing to lose (other than your time!)

I hope I do too Mm, I know it's usually more for things like that, mother of the bride etc.
Haven't booked yet, need to be in the right frame of mind...it's never quite easy explaining ;)
