Bit of a splurge...

Mr Osc had said if he had a day with no golf this week, we could go shopping with him to carry stuff as I am still on a crutch and today was the day. I was looking for a comfy casual dress for around Christmas and went into the shop where I bought one last year which I love. I was delighted to see that they had some by the same label, and I tried on a few, two of which I really liked.......so he told me to buy them both :D :D (that made some impression on his pension Christmas bonus which landed in the bank account last Friday  )

This one is not quite as short as in the picture, but is above my knee nevertheless. We did discuss if the length was a bit young for me, but it was Mr Osc who said that if I wore opaque tights and flattish shoes like I had on today, it would be fine.

Also this one, also above the knee, and they had nice navy opaque tights in the shop.

Both these dresses can be thrown in the washing machine and hanger dried with no ironing needed :D I know I will get loads of use out of them

Very nice indeed Osc!! :D

I wouldn't worry about the first being short - as said with opaques and flatties they will be fine, and anyway you have good legs!! ;) :D :)

Both look lovely Osc, I especially like the first one :)

That would definitely be a tunic for me, and Kaz too I'm sure, I think you're a smidge taller than me Kaz, but no doubt perfect dress length for you Osc :)

I like the second one but the first dress I love! :D

I would wear that with thick tights and bumpers or chunky boots. 8-)

I'm aware of my age (55 next year) but still feel good in shortish dresses as I wear them with the right tights etc and anyway, Don (my fashion assistant  ) would soon tell me if something wasn't right on me.

How did I get to be 11 years older than you  Mr Osc soon tells me too, so it was good to have him there, rather than bring it home to have him say "mmmmmm" and give "that" look  The second dress looks a whole lot nicer on than in the picture.

My thighs are very long, it makes it more noticeable I think :o
The legs are still pretty good though, I wear exactly what I want to :Hi:

Bb has That Look too :x

I think it is more a figure thing than an age thing - if you have the legs then it's fine! :) I've never had great legs, they are chunky even when I am not

There are girls of 18 who should never go anywhere near a short skirt, and women in their 50s and 60s who (with the right tights and shoes, as discussed) look amazing in them!

That's the thing too - being totally honest with yourself and giving the heave-ho to clothes that just don't do any favours. :)

I love my short(ish) frocks.

We had a lady called Eileen at work who was 70 years of age but wore the most fantastic clothes and was so stylish.

She was very slender and had a great pair of legs...although she didn't wear 'short' dresses they were a couple of inches above her knees. She didn't look at all 'muttony'; just really good.

I remember thinking when I first met her "I want to dress like that too when I'm older". :x :x
