F1 - No more radio.

For the chaps here

F1 - No more radio.

The FIA have, belatedly, stepped in to stop race engineers giving drivers instructions and information over the radio or changing a car's settings via telemetry whilst out on track - no more "taxi" drivers.

The rules have always been there to stop this sort of thing, but were never applied.

Wonder whats made them suddenly decide to enforce it then? Could it be stop the likes of "right Nico, this lap you go down the chicane route as discussed?

So what will we get on the radio announcements on air? Nico did you want a pepperoni tonight or just a Hawaiian? Lewis are you for an Indian or Chinese later?

From what I have read it is only factual stuff like "Box this lap" sort of thing.

Charlie Whiting thinks that all the pass-back of telemetry info and tactical changes from engineers to drivers has gone too far. Why now? I still wonder if Nico was told to let Lewis pass, but that would have been done prior to the race, surely?

Hopefully it's to stop the "X is faster than you at the hairpin, brake ten metres later" sort of message.

"You are faster than the other car in turns 1 and 7, he is faster in turns 4 & 5."

In other words: "Don't overtake in turn 1 he will get you back in 4 or 5 leave it till turn 7."

It had to be stopped TBH.
