Yes, you are our first game after the International break, which gives your new/interim manager time to bed in. We did hope you would hang on to ETH until after then.

I doubt you will gift us anything, we dont seem to be able to hang on to gifts. But much as I hate saying to friends hope we beat you, I really do, we need to :?

Frank, the club have just confirmed Ruben Amorim in the last half hour. He starts work on the 11th. Love love LOVE Ruud but I’d hate to see him destroyed by certain sections of the support like Ole was if results didn’t go to plan.
It’s interesting to see what will happen now that there’s a proper football structure in place behind and above the head coach (that seems to be the job title he’s been given and not manager) rather than the shots being called by people whose backgrounds were in finance. Ole had Ronaldo and his ego pushed into his team, because having him back at the club sold merchandise and gained clicks on social media.

Shell, even if we score (and it’s a big if), we struggle to hold onto a lead. The scoreline flattered us on Wednesday because the Leicester side were very poor, yet still scored two.

Just catching up with it Jo after being out shopping. It looks a little strange to me. He as been given the rest of this season to (try to) sort out the current mess, but then only gets one full season '26 / '27 to have a pop at some silverware. I wonder whose decision that was, his or the club's? He doesn't actually take over till the Ipswich match on the 24th so Ruud gets three games in charge and the other thing is that his coaching staff have yet to be announced nor who will pick them. Will they be his or will Uncle Jim and his mates be involved?

Two full seasons Frank, 25/26 and 26/27 with the option of a further year.
There was talk the other day that negotiations were taking place with Sporting to get his staff released to join him. He’ll have 13 days in the job over the international break before the Ipswich game.

Just an aside, there’s a pic going around of him and Jonny Evans playing against each other some years ago. What a story Jonny has. Released by Leicester so he called his old teammate Darren Fletcher (whose son was on the bench the other night) to ask if he could train at Carrington for a few weeks to maintain his fitness. Ended up signing him.
He’s put in man of the match performances on more than one occasion.

Sorry, Jo, I was so confused by it all that I got my dates mixed up.

I see Jonny E has extended his one year deal to next June. It is not a bad deal. He might be 36 ish but he is a good fall back should anyone get injured and his experience as a winner might be invaluable to the young ones coming through who will be training with him. His work ethic alone is worth whatever it is he's being paid as he puts some of the current "stars" to shame.

I did read something from Guillem Balague saying that the Sporting staff (or most of them) will be staying put, but can't remember where. Apparently many of them were not happy with the way things were handled, being kept out of the loop and such likes. We'll see.
