To be fair to our commentators I lived on the Dutch-German border for neary seven years in RAFG during the time of Johan Neeskens, Wim van Hanegem, Gerd Müller etc. and saw lots of TV football. I can safely say that their commentators were every bit as "patriotic" as ours, and then some when they played each other.

However, I can well do without the summaries of Hoddle, the Nevilles, Murphy etc. telling us what we have just seen with our own eyes.

I wish there was an option to watch a televised match without the commentary during the game. It can't be that difficult to do.

There is an option. Just turn off the sound on your Television. Can't be easier than that, can it?

Noooooo, that's not an option. I want to hear the crowd noise, I don't want absolute silence.

Oh I understand.

I don't know what the answer is, then.

The radio commentary is sometimes better than the TV. It is a couple of seconds in advance of the TV though.
