RIP Willie Thorne

Back in the 70's our local theatre hosted the Heineken snooker doubles championship. We went for several years. Willie Thorne and Cliff Thorburn were my favourite pairing, they were charming, funny and very entertaining.

When the match finished early Willie and Cliff entertained us with a fantastic show of trick shots.

He seemed a thoroughly nice man.

Sweet dreams Willie

I'm not that clued up about the professional snooker fraternity, but Willie Thorne always came across to me as a gentleman. RIP.
