We were listening to it on the way home from the Lakes District. I think I will watch extra time and the celebrations on catch up.

I said to Tim, see if you want something bringing home, you need a woman to do it

We saw it, as my brother-in-law had it on round at D's. It was a very fast and exciting game, not at all boring, as many of the men's matches seem to be :?

Very well done Lionesses!!!!

Kudos to them, they played very well throughout the tournament and deserved their victory.

Winning goal was a bit scrappy, though ...

But, to be honest, I didn't watch any of it. Far too much media hype and razzamatazz for my taste.

And as for the Commonwealth Games, you can stick it! Once the BBC had set a new All-Comers record for the number of times the word "diversity" was used in an outside broadcast - and that was before the Games actually began  - I just reached for the "Off" button. Can;t be doin' with all that, I'm afraid.

Yes, Al Beeba seems to use every sporting occasion as a mounting stone for it's obsession with "diversity" or "gender equality".

Which is strange, because the BBC has always been run by middle aged white blokes...

Do as I say, writ large.

What I do like about the games and its diversity is the inclusion of the disabled.. I always think its a real shame the paralympics take place after everything else has finished, as least these are inclusive
