It's back! F1 at Spa...

... but for how long.

Two burst tyres, both RH rears, for Nando and Seb and the drivers now want reassurances. Who can blame them? Can you imagine what could happen if one goes in Eau Rouge, Pouhon or Blanchemont?

If there are more unexplained events in today's qualifying, when the drivers are pushing hard, I can see the drivers refusing to race. I hope it does not come to that, but safety has to come first, second and third. If there is an incident it will not all be down to Pirelli, Bernie will have to look long and hard at his position in the new tyre rules.

I have just watched P3 and it looks as though the race stewards are going to have to have eagle eyes for qualifying. There are at least three places where the cars are putting all four wheels over the white line. Do that in quali and you lose your lap.

Do it in the race and we know what happens.... sometimes. Ask Roman for details. Consistency is everything isn't it?

a very strange qualifying! Marussia through to Q2 and in Q3 Di Resta in pole until the rain suddenly eases and he ends up in fifth!
In the MotoGP englishman Cal Crutchlow is on pole on a non-factory Yamaha. Well done that man!

I did wonder why Di Resta didn't come in for a top-up and then trundle round to see how thing were developing, just in case.

Well done Cal.... I enjoyed the quali whilst flicking channels.

Silly Paul, if I heard correctly that was his choice.

Would have been very cross is Seb had been on pole, but can live with Lewis (although would have preferred Nico, Mark or Roman)

They have now attributed the punctures to debris on the track Frank

I know Shell, but the drivers are not completely convinced, and as Gary Anderson noted the tyres should be robust enough to take some racing damage without disintegrating so spectacularly.

Ton, if it wasn't for the commentary it would sometimes be difficult to know who was where in the race, so I do understand.

What a let down!

As soon as Seb passed Lewis that was it - procession.

Got to say it was a great drive from Nando and a shame Jenson had to come in for that last set of tyres.

I agree, good old Teflonso (or Alfonso as DC's mum's milkman calls him   )

He seemed such an elder statesman on the podium compared to Seb and Lewis. I do like Seb I have to admit and I still admire him for ignoring team orders and overtaking Mark, which I appreciate not many other people do.

To me it's just nice to see them on a proper race track.
