RIP F1

The German GP has been pulled from this year's schedule, and Monza's contract expires next year and might not be renewed.

In my time watching F1 Europe has lost the Dutch, Portuguese, Swiss, French, San Marino and Austrian GPs. Austria is back, but for how long? Hungary came and went and came back again.

In other places we lost South Africa; Canada is not a definite any more; the US can never make its mind up about F1; Mexico might only be a one-off and Brazil might not always be there due to costs.

If the teams will not do anything about Bernie maybe it is time for the circuits to club together and tell him where to get off.

Absolutely WM Bernie is completely destroying the sport with his money and preference for all these fancy new circuits that are just so boring.

The one I would love to see the back off and never will is Monaco.

If they ever get rid of Spa that will be it for me.

When I was stationed in Germany, and travelling to many GP, the Belgian GP was held at Zolder.

At about 14km Spa was considered 'old school' and more an endurance circuit, like Le Mans and the old Nurburgring, than a modern F1 circuit. It was only after the deaths of many drivers, including Gilles Villeneuve, at Zolder that Spa became the home of the Belgian GP.
However, I do agree.... If it, and Silverstone go, so do I.

Shell, did you know that Monaco is the only 'circuit' that gets its GP free from any Bernie charges. So, you are right, it will never disappear.....
