... has just scored the fastest Test century ever at Lords (in 85 balls).

Congratulations to him. We'll overlook the fact he was actually born a New Zealander, shall we?

Since the introduction of Twenty20 the batting text book has been torn up.

When I played everything, apart from a hook or a pull, was met with a straight bat. Anything wide down the leg or the off was left alone. Nowadays there is a lot of flat batting or playing across the line and that makes more balls playable. It also makes field setting a nightmare because today's shots can go anywhere.

But well done to the lad. A ton in 85 balls is no mean feat in any form of the game.

Wow!
Bb says he was bowling well too, and apparently being talked of as 'the new Botham'.
Having only just got Sky it's a long time since we could watch any proper cricket.

Today was the final of the IPL so we watched that, but having really enjoyed the whole tournament it was a bit of a let-down, especially as 'our' team lost   :D
