Soup maker

Has anyone got one?

Mums been asking me what I want for my birthday and was wondering about one of these between her and my sister.

I don't want a really expensive one though.

Off to look for reviews!

Debih tbh unless it's a really expensive one I don't think they're worth having :?

I got a pannini press (free with Tesco clubcard bonus thingy) and love it, but that would depend on how much you like toasties/panninis and can resist adding cheddar to everything ;) :D
We use it an awful lot:
What you'd expect, ie toasted ham & cheese.
Gorgeous turkey/brie/cranberry sandwich or pannini.
Any sandwich that should be made with lightly-toasted bread, eg chicken, avocado, tomato, red onion - make then in press for just a few seconds.
Very superior onion baguette with (cooked) sausage, red onion, relish, again just for a minute or so.
Muffins with bacon, cheese & tomato...

Anyway, it's also very practical. It's narrow and when closed slides into a very small cupboard space.
It's super-nonstick and needs virtually no cleaning.
It heats up in less time than making the sandwich.
It's this

That's my problem WM - I loves a gadget.

Like the look of a panini thing Di but I know I'd never use that. I used to love my Breville one but it was such a pain I. The bum to clean. My favourite - left over mashed potato toasted sandwich, cut off the end and squirt ketchup in.

I think I fancy the soup maker cos there's only really me that eats homemade soup. When I make it it's either too thick or when I water it down I end up with loads so I freeze it and then forget about it! I was hoping I could make smaller amounts that aren't so thick you need a knife and fork to eat it.

Debih the pannini thing=zero cleaning!! :D

Literally none - a very quick wipe with damp kitchen roll or cloth to pick up any stray breadcrumbs is all.
Any cheese that oozes out you just scoop off with a (nonstick) fish slice.

Re the soupmaker, no you can't make small amounts, that's just it, it's about a litre and a half minimum - 4+ portions.
And the cheap ones you can only cook for half an hour - from cold - not enough for hard veg - and no sautéeing first.
Check the expensive ones though, see what the smallest amounts for those are.

Have some of this instead, it's gorgeous - shower stuff in detox, relaxing, or nourishing, also the hand & body lotion in Nourishing is just wonderful to rub into your arms and hands before getting into bed.
Honestly, lying there inhaling that smell is good enough to lull you to sleep :)
W/rose have it 3-for-2 ;)

I'd do anything for sleep!

Since dad died I can't sleep! Still! I tend to drop off between 1am and 2am and am wide awake again by 4.30am to 5am.

:(

Di I love the sound of the panninni toaster, and when you mentioned the brie/cranberry/turkey combo my mouth started to water, as that is my very fave panninni in Correttos   Do you put rocket in yours? If not you should try it ;)
