I got a pannini press (free with Tesco clubcard bonus thingy) and love it, but that would depend on how much you like toasties/panninis and can resist adding cheddar to everything
We use it an awful lot:
What you'd expect, ie toasted ham & cheese.
Gorgeous turkey/brie/cranberry sandwich or pannini.
Any sandwich that should be made with lightly-toasted bread, eg chicken, avocado, tomato, red onion - make then in press for just a few seconds.
Very superior onion baguette with (cooked) sausage, red onion, relish, again just for a minute or so.
Muffins with bacon, cheese & tomato...
Anyway, it's also very practical. It's narrow and when closed slides into a very small cupboard space.
It's super-nonstick and needs virtually no cleaning.
It heats up in less time than making the sandwich.
